Dist:0.5km<br/>The public footpath from Little Newsham to Cleatlam drops steeply down a leafy slope with rotting steps, and crosses Newsham Beck by this well-built footbridge. The little yellow arrow indicates that it then angles left up the slope towards an old railway trackbed. However, there is no evidence of use on the ground, and no obvious way to cross the fence visible from anywhere near the bridge. Perhaps the path would be more discernible by starting at Cleatlam and working south.

Dist:0.6km<br/>A large farm which overlooks Newsham Beck, beyond which it has a view over Little Newsham. Clearly the original owners of both this and [[[459222]]] did not want the adjective "Little" prepended to the names of their houses, despite the fact that the village of Newsham is some eight kilometres to the south and the names are thus quite misleading.

Dist:0.6km<br/>Newsham Beck rises in farmland at Stainton Grove, NE of Barnard Castle and flows to join Langley Beck near Selaby Hall, at no time flowing anywhere near Newsham, a village some eight kilometres to the south. The village from which it gets its name is Little Newsham, but apart from the village itself, nothing in the vicinity seems to want to use the adjective "little". Must be an inferiority complex working here. A public footpath crosses the beck via a footbridge just downstream of this point, but the footpath becomes completely invisible on this side of the beck, and it is not at all obvious where the path is supposed to cross the fence and the old railway trackbed just to the north.
