BS BookWorms
A book club for people from in and around Bishops Stortford. Meet bi-weekly to review what your reading and to share observations. Help you meet and get to know people in the area. We will meet in a local (quiet) bar from 8-10. We will generate a list of books for all of us to read and then discuss going forward. Get in touch and we can decide when and where our first meeting will take place.
BS-Barter
This is a bartering club. The idea is that you trade one thing for another and no money changes hands.
For example,
1:
You may want a ride to the airport and in
exchange you will cut the grass in my garden on an agreed date.
2:
You may have computer games or DVDs you no longer need but want to exchange for others or a bottle of wine or lessons in IT or something of broadly equal value in your eyes.
3:
You may have a spare room and would offer someone the room in exchange for light housework or a set amount of carer/companion hours per week.
4:
You may have skills in design, therapy, entertainment, plumbing, electrical, PC, etc. that you can exchange for a couple of hours in exchange for something you want but can't afford on your budget.
5:
You may like dog walking and exchange that for some home made cakes or a pie or two if the walking is regular, etc.
THESE ARE JUST SAMPLE IDEAS; THINK OF OTHERS...
Send me your offers and I will advertise on here once a week to local readers; tell me
1: What you want to exchange
2: What you want to receive
3: Or, just put it out there and see what others
will exchange for your offer...
4: How you can be contacted (provide an email
address or mobile#)
The possibilities are endless and try not to stick to exchanging items for items. Think more broadly about what you want and what you can give in exchange in more practical terms. These are harsh times economically and this is a way of finding what you need without parting with ANY of your hard earned cash. There will be something for everyone, if everyone joins in the initiative.
Give it a try....

Welcome to the world of Model Yacht Racing. Model yacht racing is very similar in performance to full sizes yachts or dinghies, providing great fun and fellowship, it is truly a sport for all ages and can be done all year.
What is Radio Controlled Yacht Racing?
Radio controlled yachts are controlled from the shore via a radio transmitter and race around a set course. Radio controlled yacht racing follows the same racing rules as full size boats and requires similar skills in boat positioning, tactics and tuning.
Where do I start?
Well you’ve made a good start by contacting our club. A few visits on race days will show you at first hand how the day is run. Talk to any of our members and they will give you lots of information on the classes of boats sailed and the racing programme.
