Dist:0.4km<br/>Like many villages on the high ground in north east Herefordshire, Leysters is scattered, with large areas of farmland between clusters of houses. The school was near here, a mile out of the current centre on the A4112, and the church is a mile away down another lane. The area was once prosperous on the proceeds of Ryeland wool, but must have suffered a decline, as there are many churches without big villages around them. This land is 200m above sea level, there are no hills as such in the area, but it's consistently high ground with a reputation for tough winters. The turnips are being grown for sheep fodder.

Dist:0.5km<br/>Typical example of one of the maze of single track roads on the Bromyard plateau. Great cycling country , as long as you avoid the illegal practice of scattering hedge trimmings on the road. A light bike and a willingness to walk can be an advantage.

Dist:0.6km<br/>Ash Farm, Leysters. Like many surviving farms has diversified into retail. One of the many outlets of quality food that has turned the Ludlow area into a tourist attraction. The farm is on the Leominster-Tenbury road at the top of the infamous Raddle Bank, a steep bendy hill where the Bromyard plateau falls to the Teme Valley.
