Dist:0.9km<br/>The formation of Jessop's 1804 Caldon Tramway above Whiston, where it follows the side of the hill along a ledge which can be made out just this side of the hedge. Behind the camera, the formation crosses the A52 main road into a cutting and under a bridge, before being lost under a modern golf course for some distance.

Dist:1.0km<br/>Taken from the point at which the tramway crossed what is now the A52, this is the trackbed looking towards the top of the inclined plane down to Froghall Wharf. This was the third tramway linking Froghall and Caldon Quarries, engineered by William Jessop and opened in 1804. It was itself superseded in 1847, but its route is clearly visible in many locations.

Dist:1.1km northwest<br/>Locomotive No 5199 takes on water at Froghall and Kingsley Station, on the Churnet Valley railway. The engine spent the day hauling a passenger train between here and Leekbrook Junction.
