Dist:0.2km<br/>Situated in Gold Hill East, Chalfont St Peter, this Church dates from 1871, although there had been a Baptist Church on this site since 1792. Its postcode is SL9 9DG.

Dist:0.3km<br/>The clock was erected here, at the top of the Market Place, by the residents of Chalfont St Peter, in 1953 to commemorate the coronation of Queen Elizabeth II. It was renovated in 2007 by the Parish Council. As ever with public clocks it's good to report that it was telling the correct time!

Dist:0.6km<br/>St Peter's Garden is an old churchyard of [[1833666]]. It is still consecrated ground but, with the permission of the diocese, is now a public open space. The path leads down to Church Lane. I read that there is a list of the burials here on the local parish council website but at the time of submission of this photograph it was not accessible.

Dist:0.6km<br/>In 1708 the medieval church was destroyed by the Tower falling into the nave. A contemporary style church replaced it but was largely altered and extended in the mid 19th century.

Dist:0.6km<br/>This pub dates from the 17th century and although it was refaced in the 18th century some of the original structure, such as the brick chimney stack at the far end, still remains. The road is the High Street, once the main A413 road to Amersham, now bypassed by [[1840448]]. The photo was taken a couple of days after St George's Day and the whole town was festooned with flags, albeit some not quite entering into the spirit of things!

Dist:0.7km<br/>The old church here collapsed in 1708 and the new church, including this west tower, was rebuilt in brick and completed by either 1714 or 1726 depending on which current internet source one uses. The body of the church beyond the tower was substantially modified and extended in Victorian times. Of interest here are the semi-octagonal stair turret on the right, the roof battlements and the rounded belfry windows. The tower is of red brick with stone quoins.
