The station closed on 14/9/31, but the main line still thrives and the branch and the locality are still active in the 21st century with china-clay traffic.

Dist:0.8km<br/>For every ton of china clay produced there are 9 tons of waste material. This grassed tip is the southern end of a "great wall" which stretches from here north and west for several miles hiding the huge china clay pits behind.
