Dist:0.1km<br/>I'm pretty sure I've nailed the location with the satellite. There used to be 4 tall silos clearly visible from the M5. There are only two here and now there are none. Coming south I always used to feel I was really near home when I saw these just after Chance's glassworks.

Dist:0.2km<br/>The Titford Locks were built in 1837 provide a navigable link between the Birmingham Canal Old Main Line and the Titford Pools. The Engine House pumps water from the lower level to replenish the 511 foot summit level.

Dist:0.2km<br/>The maltings were built in the 1870-1890s for the nearby Showell's Crosswell Brewery. They were taken over by Wolverhampton & Dudley Breweries in 1944 and continued in use until 2007. The site was bought in 2008 by D & S Enterprises for £1M and may be converted to flats and offices. The malting operated on the floor malting process with a staff of eleven maltsters and two foremen working seven days a week. A 12" layer of barley was allowed to germinate for a period of around one week and was turned with rakes to dissipate the heat generated. Once the maltster decided that germination had progressed to the right stage the process was stopped by passing through a kiln. The process required hard manual labour.
