Connecting the Landport estate on the northern edge of Lewes with the River Ouse. The track appears not be marked as a public footpath though seems to be regularly used by locals. The bridge carries the Lewes-Wivelsfield line over the track.

Dist:0.2km<br/>The straight cut passing under the railway bridge formerly served a chalk quarry wharf at the foot of Offham Hill (which is the viewpoint). At the left the junction of the natural sinuous course of the Ouse and Hamsey Cut may be seen. Hamsey Cut was the start of the Upper Ouse Navigation and contained the first lock. Further up the river a hedgerow to its right (and less clearly to its left) marks the course of an abandoned railway, leading to abandoned lines to East Grinstead and Tunbridge Wells.
