The view from the England Lane occupation crossing. Formerly operating as Rockware Glass as part of the Ardagh Group, the Ardagh name is now used throughout the group's operations.

Obviously of some antiquity, the lane is still shown on the map as a permissive byway, although for most of its length it appears to be a properly adopted highway. From the visible road junction onwards it is indeed a bus route. The lane has also given its name to the local housing estate.

A merry-go-round train returning to the colliery with empty hoppers from the power station. On the right are sand hoppers labelled as 'BIS sand for Rockware Glass Ltd'. The Rockware glassworks, [[579196]], is just around the corner behind the bridge.

A class 08 shunter heads a short trip freight into Knottingley station. The majority of the wagons are sand hoppers, presumably for the nearby glass works.

Three women natter away on the road bridge as Class 56092 and coal empties go by unnoticed. The first 30 Class 56 locomotives were built at Electroputere in Romania, but due to shoddy workmanship the rest were built by BREL at Doncaster Works. Production started in 1976 and ran until 1984.
