Dist:0.4km<br/>The St Austell granite massif rises steeply to the north of the town giving some fine views to the south. This view was taken from the road around the southeast side of Carclaze Downs and looks out over the eastern side of St Austell Bay to Gribbin Head. You may just be able to make out some vertical smudges on the photograph caused by the fact that it was taken in a torrential rain (and hail) storm.

Dist:0.7km<br/>These four tanks are part of the modern China Clay industry above St Austell. A rotor arm continuously sweeps around the tank. The colouration is due to the suspended particles in the water.

Dist:0.7km<br/>A modern circle of stones, I think, on a hilltop above the china clay works. The distinctive pyramid of [[1756804]] appears on the left.

Dist:0.8km<br/>This roundabout marks the entrance to the Eden project. The turn in to Eden is hidden behind the bank on the right of the photograph although the domes themselves are still almost a kilometre away from this point. The road in from the left hand side has been built specifically to feed traffic into the Eden Project without overwhelming existing minor roads with traffic.
