The footpath leads from the village of Kingsbury to the Water Park. The footpaths are raised so they can be still used when the meadows are flooded.

Dist:0.2km<br/>This marvellous old wall dates, according to English Heritage, from the C13th. Two extant arches can be seen in this image. The wall partially surrounds [[[1073303]]]. It appears that the old hall itself is finally undergoing some renovation, and not before time - its roof can just be seen in this image as rather ghostly triangles peeping above the wall. For many years this was used as a farmhouse with the farmer specialising in pigs. I'm pretty sure that he was the farmer who used to collect the leftovers from the school dinners which were put in the "swill bins" at [[[285527]]] and probably numerous other schools in the area. I wonder if such sensible recycling goes on today - it's probably against some law these days.

Dist:0.2km<br/>It looks as though, at last, this magnificent old hall and ancient manor house, is undergoing some much-needed renovation. The hall itself dates probably from the C15th while the Curtain Walls (seen on the right in this image) are a century or so older. The door immediately to the right is to the boiler room which was the old vestry, the vestry now being in the Bracebridge Chapel which occupies most of the north transept seen sticking out to the right here. Dist:0.2km<br/>Kingsbury's fine old church dates back to the C12th with numerous additions over the centuries. It stands in an attractive churchyard next to the ancient [[[1073303]]]. The only trouble with the many sturdy trees in the grounds is that they make taking a full side-on view of the church almost impossible - this being the best I could do. Dist:0.2km<br/>This is the tower of [[[1073281]]]. A plaque above the lowest window states that it was restored in 1928, though originally dating from the late C13th. Between these two dates, some time in the C16th or C17th the western face of the tower (the face seen here) underwent considerable renovation.

Dist:0.2km<br/>Old steps sandwiched between [[[1073281]]] and [[[1073303]]] take the footpath down to the water meadows that abut the River Tame. These fields often flood, so the pathway across them is raised (see [[[14976]]]). The tiles and bricks seen here in good condition which belies their age, as they are the very hard-wearing blue bricks which were made in large quantities in the local area in the past as the local clay has the required properties.
