Dist:0.6km<br/>This is an old disused colliery railway line, which used to connect Seaton Burn Colliery with the Tyne Docks. It was known locally as 'The Dolly Farthing Line'. It is now a footpath and nature reserve.

Dist:0.7km<br/>The new town of Killingworth was created from 1963 and was characterised by brutalist modern concrete architecture - notably the three "Killingworth Towers", located on this street, which eventually had to be demolished in 1987.

Dist:0.8km<br/>This is a track that follow the path of the old disused Seaton Burn Waggon Way, a railway line which connected Seaton Burn Colliery with the Tyne Ports. This is the view south west from the B1317 and a cart track now follows the path of the old line.

Dist:0.8km<br/>Also known as Killingworth Road, this incline down from Killingworth Village to the Clousden Hill junction with Great Lime Road, is known to all locals as 'Killie Bank'. To anyone like myself, who had a childhood in the 1940s or earlier, Killie Bank was the local equivalent to 'The Cresta Run' and was famous for sledging. Traffic these days unfortunately precludes such wonderful and enjoyable activities, although this photograph may suggest otherwise.

This view is taken as it approaches West Lane, Killingworth, B1317). Unusually this section is grassed over and has not formally been converted to a cycle or footpath.
