This area has been enclosed by railings and planted in the last few years. The plane trees were pruned to allow more light and water to reach the garden. It was participating in Open Garden Squares Weekend.

As part of Open Garden Squares Weekend http://www.opensquares-loirevalleywines.org/ there was free wine tasting from Loire Valley Wines in many gardens - generally a different wine in each garden.
