The Parochial Hall is the building in the centre of the photograph with stone window surrounds. It acts as the parish hall for St Nicholas church, the entrance to which is across the road, and is the only large community space in this part of the town.

Named after the Earls of Monmouth who occupied Kenilworth Castle from c1623-1650. This new development was constructed by Laing Homes in the 1990's on the site of John Bausor butchers' abattoir. A photograph of the old abattoir buildings can be found in 'Kenilworth in Camera Volume II' (Graham Gould and John Drew, Baron Books, 2008) The butchers shop still exists on the High Street at the front of the site. The path on the left is a public right of way which provides access to Elmbank Road.

View towards the famous norman west door of kenilworth parish church through the gravestones that occupy the area once taken by Keniworth Abbey which was dissolved by Henry VIII in 1538. Much of the church stone came from the abbey although the original building is much older.

It reads: Beneath are deposited the remains of JOHN BURY (Grandson of THOMAS BURY of the Elms near Bewdley) who departed this Life January 2nd 1820: in the 89th Year of his Age. Likewise MARY his Wife (from Smethwick near Birmingham) who died September 15th 1762: Aged 23 Years. in the 10th week of their Marriage. Also JEMIMA his second Wife (Daughter of RICHARD and HANNAH HIORNS of Ashow) who died October 14th 1781: in the 43rd Year of her Age. Also RICHARD their Son who died Suddenly October 5th 1800; aged 28 Years. And THOMAS who died an Infant. Life is but a fleeting Shadow.
