Dist:0.3km<br/>A close-up shot of the board at Kelburn Park [[842012]]. The timber ponds extend along the estuary mudflats from Kelburn in Port Glasgow to Langbank, a distance of around three miles. They were created in the early 18th century to store and season timber imported from Europe and North America. Timber including pitch pine, yellow pine and oak were in great demand by the local shipbuilders in Port Glasgow. The ponds fell into disuse in the early 19th century.

Dist:0.5km<br/>Woodhall Park was the home of Port Glasgow Juniors FC until they were evicted by Inverclyde Council to make way for industrial development which has yet to happen several years down the road. The site was recently cleared and levelled. A new stadium is planned for nearby Parklea. Viewed from a Glasgow bound train. See also [[573034]].

Once home to Port Glasgow Juniors FC who were moved out by Inverclyde Council several years ago to make way for industrial development which has yet to happen. Port Juniors now play their 'home' games eight miles away at Ravenscraig Stadium in Greenock [[355856]].
