I think that is Millwall Park behind the railings. Anyway, the subject of the image is meant as an example of the mundane vehicles which we take for granted - the "garbo's" truck.

This public house was here before the earliest railway and it is good to see that at least some older buildings have survived the poncification of the Isle of Dogs. It is in what is now Saunders Ness Road, formerly known as Wharf Road.

You can have too many trees. Here is an example of how uncontrolled growth of boskage can obscure the view of what is a fine building, photography of which is almost impossible.

One of two churches on the Isle of Dogs this one was built using his own funds by William Cubitt between 1852 and 1854. Cubitt was reponsible for much of the development of the south-east corner of the Isle of Dogs. The road is the A1206 Manchester Road.

Dist:0.1km north<br/>The stone bottom-left states 'Re-erected 1882, P. [or R.] W. Gunning, Builder', although it has clearly been re-re-erected much more recently – presumably the modern housing estate was built on the site previously occupied by a church. The stone on the right took some getting to in order to read it, but it states: that it was laid on July 21st 1860 and re-laid in the early 1900s.
