This picture was taken from Little Hill which is just north of The Ferrytoll Park and Ride facility. The Main East Coast Railway Line and Jamestown Viaduct are on the left of the picture,the roundabout in the foreground is at the entrance to The Park and Ride,and just beyond that is the slip road which leads on to the south bound carriageway of The A90 as it approaches The Forth Road Bridge.

The bridge crossing the carriageways is Dunfermline Wynd[[308778]] and the road on the left is Castlandhill Road which leads to Rosyth.

Dist:0.3km<br/>The unusual decoration of these house gates is probably connected with the former local shipbreaking firm of Thomas Ward. During WW1 there was a shortage of horses because many had been sent to the Western Front and in 1916 Ward at his Sheffield factory leased an elephant (and a man to look after it) from a circus (which had been stood down for the duration of the war). Wards had the elephant, known as Lizzie, for a couple of years, stabling her near the factory and using her for hauling heavy loads of steel around Sheffield and thereafter Lizzie became something of a symbol for Thomas Ward's company.
