Bexley Art Group
The Bexley Art Group is seeking new members. The group meets on Monday evenings, at Baldwyns Park Baptist Church Hall in Dartford Road, Bexley and is happy to welcome budding artists, who would like to practice, develop and grow their skills.
The group was founded in 1942 and has contributed to the artistic life of the Borough for nearly 70 years. The members do not work under a tutor, but they are all encouraged to learn from each other, allowing confidence and talent to develop at each individual’s natural pace. Some of the club’s members have been painting for many years, others for just a few months, but all are fired with boundless enthusiasm for their art. Each weekly, two hour session, has a suggested theme but members may choose to work on other subjects, if they so wish.
The group has an annual exhibition each August, held at the Freemantle Hall, High Street, Bexley and all members are encouraged to take part in showing their work and members often contributed individually to other exhibitions.
So if would like reawaken the painting and drawing skills you haven’t used since your schooldays, then pick up your sketchbook; pencils, brushes and paints and join the Bexley Art Group, at 7:30pm on Monday evenings, (except the first Monday in each month and bank holidays).
Further club information may be obtained by contacting Marilyn Noad, the Honorary Secretary, on 01322 430681
