Watercess is a water tolerant crop and grows in pure water where the temperature is stable. Thus these days it is a year-round crop. Commercial production has increased as its health value has been sold.

Dist:0.4km<br/>On the evening of 31st March 2009 these three thatched cottages caught fire, and at one time 100 firefighters were in attendance. The roof and upper floor were destroyed, as can just be seen beneath the sheeting. The indications are that the buildings will be restored.
