Dist:0.3km<br/>The first certain reference to a church at Humbleton is found in William de Scures's gift of Humbleton village and its church to Thornton Abbey (Lincolnshire), which was made probably in the 1150s or 1160s and certainly before 1190. The present dedication to St. Peter was used in 1486 and again in 1536 but an alternative, St. Peter and St. Paul, was recorded in the mid 16th century [information provided by Victoria County History].

Dist:0.4km<br/>The eastern end of the buildings at Humbleton Manor Farm, looking west-southwest from New Lane. The farmhouse and 391 acres of land were bought by the trustees of Ann Watson's charity of Sutton on Hull in 1936. The original medieval Humbleton Manor is thought to have occupied a moated site north of St. Peter's Church.

Dist:0.4km<br/>Probably built in the later 19th century when much of the village was being rebuilt by the Hotham family, the chief landowner. Originally four houses remodelled as two in 1997. In the early part of the 20th century the trustees of Ann Watson's charity of Sutton on Hull bought farms and other properties in the area, so presumably these houses were owned by the charity at that time.
