Dist:0.4km<br/>The northern end of the third (isolated) section of the M6, opened on August 4th 1962. Within a year, this bypass of Stafford was linked to that avoiding Stoke, forming a continuous motorway route between today's junctions 13 and 16.

The marsh, much of which is designated a Site of Special and Scientific Interest makes an extraordinary and unlikely nature reserve. Managed by the Staffordshire Wildlife Trust it is surrounded on the west and east by houses, to the south by Stafford town itself and is split by the main West Coast railway line. To the north it is bounded by the M6!
