Dist:0.3km<br/>The 50ft high octagonal brick building was built in 1750 by Joseph Storr (d. 1753), but by 1852 was named after Storr's son, Rear Admiral John Storr. Possibly intended as a watch tower it was reputedly a well known landmark for sailors and served as a hospital for troops camped on the coast in 1794–5.
