Dist:0.4km<br/>The desperado sprang out in front of me with a wild shriek. "Stand and deliver" he shouted "I am the Highway highwayman**, hands up, these guns are load..." he looked at his hands. "Oh! Dear" he said "I seem to have left them behind again. Look, I really am most frighfully sorry, would you mind waiting here a few minutes while I go back? Apologies for the inconvenience." ** A service provided by the local council. This photograph was taken by an innocent gentleman who happened to be passing and got roped in.

Dist:0.5km<br/>Pastures, hedgerows, an oak tree about to assume its autumn adornment, then, further over, Clevancy Farm and Clevancy. The escarpment to the right is topped by a wood on Clevancy Hill. The escarpment stretches more than eight miles from Compton Bassett to the south west almost as far as Wroughton, north east, where it peters out.
