Plumpudding Lane, just visible, runs from the hamlet of Highstreet to Dargate but if you want to get to either place from Waterham you must use this road. Clay Hill in the background.

Dist:0.3km<br/>This was a Little Chef Restaurant.It has been closed for many years. It is on a service road to a Shell Garage on the London bound side of the dual carriageway. On the otherside, Thanet bound is a Happy Eater Restaurant (still open).

Dist:0.4km<br/>The A299 Thanet Way has been greatly improved in recent years and in this area has been transformed from a suicidal three-lane road to dual-carriageway. This has reduced accidents and traffic hold-ups on sunny summer weekends. Whitstable is visible on the left.

Dist:0.5km<br/>This is a response to Penny Mayes' [[336501]] and Philip Perry's [[977009]], taken from the A299 main carriageway and looking north-northeast at the BP petrol station on the opposite side of the road to Philip's photo of the Shell petrol station.

Dist:0.5km<br/>This stile is on a footpath from Seasalter Lane (via Mount Pleasant and Brookdene Farm) to Highstreet Road. After the stile the path heads down the track right to the road past the service station and motel. The two phone masts in the background are on the A299 Thanet Way. Note, paths do not match the OS large scale but does match the smaller OS Get-a-map.

Dist:0.5km<br/>This road leads from the A299 Thanet Way and Highstreet Road (leading to Waterham), towards Plumpudding Lane. It leads over the A299 Thanet Way dual carriageway.

Dist:0.5km<br/>Seen from the services on the dual carriageway, from the M2 Motorway towards Herne Bay. Highstreet Road leads right towards Waterham and left over the bridge towards Highstreet and Yorkletts. Why the sign (on the right) facing the oncoming traffic is there I don't know.
