Dist:0.7km<br/>There are two Highams in Suffolk, the other being in the far west of the county. Neither, unfortunately have much to offer architecturally. St Mary’s was over-restored and much of the history and interest have been lost. The 15th c. embattled tower is showing its age and has three distinct stages of building. The church is entered through the north porch which is half-timbered but of no great age. The only real point of interest is the beautiful pier arcade between the nave and the north aisle. The columns have well carved capitals with vine leaves and Tudor rose decoration.
