Dist:0.4km<br/>No longer stored is stacks you often see straw bundled into swiss rolls and wrapped in plastic as an alternative to barns. A small building (barn?) is shown in this spot on OS Explorer 156, a pile of rubble near the entrance gate suggests its fate.

Dist:0.6km<br/>Near the beginning of East Town Lane we find this rewarding view over Wiltshire to Beacon Hill ST9965 , Oliver's Castle SU0064 and Roundway on the other side of Devizes. The parish church at Steeple Ashton is to the left, quite a large church for a small village.

Dist:0.7km<br/>The footpath makes its way neatly through the wheat. Paths like this must be a pain for farmers. The tree on the left is probably a type of pine. The church tower in the distance is probably in Steeple Ashton. The hill in the distance might be Roundway Hill. Nothing is for certain...
