Dist:0.3km north<br/>The former Hertford & Welwyn Junction Railway was opened in 1858 and closed in 1951. This is the trackbed west of the former station at Hertingfordbury looking towards Welwyn. It now forms part of National Cycle Network Route 61 which will ultimately connect Dorney near Maidenhead with Rye House Station where the River Stort joins the River Lee.

Dist:0.5km north<br/>This hall was originally called the ‘Cowper Memorial Hall’, but it has since been renamed ‘Mayflower Place’. It was built in 1910, on the instructions of Countess Cowper (pronounced Cuper), in memory of her husband who died in 1905, by the skilled workmen from the Cole Green Estate Works. The hall was built to provide a meeting and recreation place for the families of her estate workers.
