There is an inscription which reads 'This Hospital and School were erected in the year 1727 by Jane Dymoke' Jane Dymoke established a yearly allowance for four poor widows of Lincolnshire to live in the hospital. There was a 145 acre farm associated with the hospital for revenue purposes. The four almswomen received a weekly allowance of two shillings and thrupence, plus coal. Dist:0.3km<br/>These grass fields S of the Church, through which a footpath run, have an old feeling about them. In the centre ground a clear earth platform can be seen, which is suggestive of there being a building there at one time. The whole area is suggestive of an old manorial complex, despite the present manor house being situated to the NE of the village.
