Dist:1.3km north<br/>Looking north. Also known as Bentley Priory Lake or Heriots Wood Lake. The Environment Agency are currently (November 2005) undertaking construction work for flood alleviation.

Dist:1.3km southeast<br/>Dismantled railway lines are normally associated with rural locations, but this one is in London. This branch line ran from Harrow and Wealdstone railway station to Stanmore with one intermediate station, at Belmont, and was originally financed by a wealthy landowner who owned Stanmore Golf Club and other land in the area. The railway was closed in 1964, a victim of Dr. Beeching's cuts. One of the possible factors in its downfall was the geometry of the connection at Harrow and Wealdstone where trains from Stanmore ended up facing northwards away from London. This view was taken looking southwards at the point where the railway crossed the east end of Vernon Drive.

Dist:1.4km east<br/>This station, which strongly resembles a village church, was opened in 1890 as the terminus of a private branch from Harrow and Wealdstone, later incorporated into the LNWR. As seen here in 1957 the appearance is almost as original except for the loss of the large clock over the entrance door. The station closed to passengers in 1952 and for goods in 1964. Sadly the buildings were incorporated into private housing developments and the site is now almost unrecognisable.
