Dist:0.1km north<br/>This building was perhaps a Sunday School, and the coat of arms suggests that it was built by the Ferrand family of Harden Grange, later called St Ives.

Dist:0.1km north<br/>Just inside the western entrance to the estate there is a car park, and from it this public footpath goes northwards through the western part of the estate, passing Lady Blantyre's Rock.

Dist:0.1km north<br/>The estate was owned by Rievaulx Abbey from the 12C to the Dissolution, and was later acquired by The Ferrand Family, when it was called Harden Grange. In the 20C it was purchased by Bingley Urban District Council and became a country park and golf course, with an equestrian centre in the stable block and various businesses and a centre for the young disabled. The lodge was built in the Gothic style in 1851 – see: [[952744]].

Dist:0.4km north<br/>Much of this hillside has been colonised by rhododendrons, which form an impenetrable jungle. Here, however there is a stand of mature conifers, fringed by young beech (?) trees, into which the rhododendrons have not penetrated.
