Dist:0.2km north<br/>A large synagogue seating 1350 people. Taken on a Saturday, the synagogue was evident from black coated worshippers walking home in the streets around. A constituent of the United Synagogue, built in 1967 to replace one built in 1935. At the corner of Kinloss Gardens and Charter Way - at the A598 A406 road junction.

Dist:0.3km north<br/>The mortal remains of Henlys Garage. Rubble, 2 discarded trucks, a skip and some shopping trolleys hide behind boarding. Once a thriving business that gave its name to a major road junction.

Dist:0.3km north<br/>Work of the French sculptor Emile Guillaume, the statue was gifted to Finchley by Lord Rothermere in 1927. Located just to the north of the A406 at Henlys corner, bus passengers wishing to get off at the adjacent stop would ask for 'the Naked Lady' when purchasing their ticket. Passengers travelling along the North Circular, on the other hand would ask for 'Henlys Corner'. The joys of Fare Stages, now a thing of the past. Finchley Synagogue is just visible in the trees to the right of the plinth.

Dist:0.3km north<br/>View southwest of the North Circular Road (A406) at Henlys Corner. On the right is Regents Park Road and on the left is Finchley Road, both forming the A598. The wood screen opposite, covered with bills, conceals the site of Henlys Garage from which the junction got its name, a name that appeared on bus timetables. The 143 bus is on its way down to Archway from where it will start its days work.

Dist:0.3km north<br/>Taken from the front seats on an 82 bus. Cars wait for the lights on Regents Park Road at the junction with the North Circular Road. Ahead, Finchley Road climbs through Temple Fortune on its way to Golders Green.

Dist:0.4km north<br/>A new Holiday Inn hotel built on the sight of The Eagle public house. Although only completed recently, the wood already looks tatty.

Dist:0.4km north<br/>On the brookside walk, the council have thoughtfully provided a suitably coloured bench for graffiti artists. However, painting on bins seems to be bad for their street cred ... it's still black! Mutton Brook lies behind the bench and for much of this part of its route is behind a solid bank of undergrowth and trees.

Dist:0.4km north<br/>It seems strange to be talking about the Barnet Bypass here on the border between Finchley and Hendon. By a strange quirk of the traffic lights at the A406 Junction, which this view is looking towards, and those at the Junction with the A504 there isn't a single car in view! There's always one street lamp that thinks it's still night. The road on the left is Highview Gardens whilst in the distance on the right are Southbourne Crescent and Greenbank Crescent, the houses of which are visible following the line of the dual carriageway.

Dist:0.4km north<br/>Originally Sheephouse Farm, it was converted to a Model Dairy farm by Express Dairies in 1882/3. It subsequently became a visitor centre from 1909, displaying the dairy industry to the public. It is currently closed to the public. Dist:0.4km north<br/>Original main entrance to the farm from Regents Park Road. The farm is currently not open to the public, but there is a horse riding equipment and pet food store on site. It is hoped to reopen to the public as a working farm in the future.

Dist:0.4km north<br/>Mutton Brook and the Brookside Walk pass under the A406. The graffiti artists have been busy and there is some unpleasant fluid flowing across the footpath. The brook itself is signposted as polluted along its length.
