The start of footpaths GDY/6/1 and GDY/7/1. The path has been cleared, but the metal public footpath sign has been covered with a black plastic bag. Not very welcoming to the walker.

Dist:0.3km<br/>Hall Wood is a block of ancient broadleaved woodland. It is also of historical importance as it is one of the earliest documented woods in Britain, with records dating from the thirteenth century.

Dist:0.3km<br/>The OS map (1:25 000) describes this as an Airstrip rather than an airfield or runway. The public footpath according to the current OS map and the Gloucester County Council's Rights of Way maps shows the public footpath running down the airstrip as far as the hangar.

Dist:0.4km<br/>The OS and County Council Maps show the footpath GDY/7/1 to cross the field from the bridge and head towards the hangar. The route of the path has been ploughed out. The angle of the waymark arrow on the bridge gave us the impression we were expected follow the field margin instead. Not very welcoming.
