Gunwelloe fishing cove - the locals taking away the sand via tractor - to sell?

Dist:0.2km<br/>What appears from here to be a long stretch of sandy beach is in fact a beach of very fine shingle with rounded stones ranging from about 5mm to 25mm in diameter. This was until recently extracted for use locally as pipe bedding material for surrounding drain pipes and for decorative landscaping use but I think this industry has now ceased.

Dist:0.2km<br/>The house nearest to us appears to be a holiday home. It has the Union flag flying but a German-registered car in the drive. This is the most southerly section of the sands that go all the way to Porthleven, but are not always accessible at the Blue Rocks headland in the middle distance.

Dist:0.3km<br/>This lovely unspoilt cove has fine sand and clear blue sea. Though on the day this was taken the waves were a bit too heavy for safe bathing. Nevertheless there were a few brave surfers out there. The bay curves round to the Northwest towards Porthleven in the distance. See also [[2609673]]
