![Dist:0.1km<br/>Marlborough Road was the middle one of three stations on the Metropolitan Line between Baker Street and Finchley Road that were closed in 1939. Lords station (to the south) and this one were replaced by St John's Wood station on the deep level Bakerloo line, which having ascended to the surface at Finchley Road, also took over all the Met Line stations between Finchley Road and Stanmore as well. (The Swiss Cottage Met Line station was replaced by a "deep" Bakerloo Line station. The Baker Street to Stanmore branch of the Bakerloo line was transferred to the Jubilee Line in 1979). The street called Marlborough Road was re-named Marlborough Place in the 1950s.
