Dist:0.4km<br/>What can I say about Green Ore? Stuck in the middle of nowhere on top of the Mendips, it's about the only thing of note in this square. A cross roads of the A39 (Wells Road) and the B3135. What strikes me is why it needs a hideous set of traffic lights. The roads that intersect are dead straight and at 90 degrees; my guess is that it's been the scene of some fatal accidents. There is also a speed camera there. The buildings around the crossroads comprise a pub (the Ploughboy Inn), a 4x4 vehicle sales place, a (transport?) cafe and a couple of houses. The rest of the square is farmed.

Dist:0.5km<br/>What you see is what you get. There is more here but not much, a garage and car showroom out of sight on the right and a few houses. The Ploughboy Inn http://ploughboyinn.com/index.html stands on the corner relying on passing trade and what they attract from the surrounding area. The A39 is the road in view with the B3135 crossing.

Dist:0.6km<br/>The B3135 is one of those strange little 'B' roads that promises much and goes nowhere. It starts by climbing the Cheddar Gorge, works its way along the Mendips to Green Ore, on a few more miles to the A37 then just as it seems to be going well it stops.

Dist:0.9km<br/>This section is called "Bristol Road." The A39 goes to Bath. The name probably dates back to the time of the coach road.

Dist:1.0km<br/>Large trees line this end of a field boundary leading away from Priddy Road. On either side are bales of silage awaiting collection. Now that the leaves have darkened, as midsummer approaches, there is a massive contrast between sun and shade in the countryside.

Dist:1.0km south<br/>Just off the A39. Here it is called Priddy Road. Before it gets to Priddy it changes its name to Hillgrove Road then to Wells Road. It does not go to Wells in either direction.

Dist:1.1km south<br/>Seen from the junction with Priddy Road. From Wells the A39 passes through Glastonbury, Street and on to Bridgwater, follow it far enough and you end up at Falmouth.
