Dist:0.5km<br/>This looks as if it ought to have belonged to the railway, but in fact it was not built until after the raailway had been abandoned; it is a loading ramp for lorries removing the aggregates quarries in the areas where the lagoons of Summer Leys Park now remain.

Dist:0.5km<br/>This north east corner of Summer Leys Nature Reserve is an area of species-rich neutral grassland, one of the few remaining in the Nene Valley, which was formerly rich in them. Careful management with hay-growing and grazing encourages growth of a number of rare plants as well as providing habitat for butterflies such as the Common Blue and rare Brown Argus. Note the bank of clay which has been imported to provide a raised path to enable access round the reserve during periods of high water.

Dist:0.7km<br/>This would have provided shelter for the lengthsman maintaining the railway track when this was still an operating railway. Note also the surviving traditional telegraph pole. The railway ran from Northampton to Peterborough.
