Dist:0.4km<br/>This sluice near Great Amwell is used to control the flow of water in the New River. On certain large scale Ordnance Survey maps it is incorrectly marked as a footbridge. As can be seen it is heavily fenced and there is no public access from the riverbank.

Dist:0.7km<br/>This close up shows one of the main girders of an old bridge over the New River. It was cast in 1824 by Priestfields Iron Works. This bridge is no longer used by road traffic, but it survives as a footbridge.
