The Parish Church of St. John the Evangelist at Goole, looking north-northeast from the churchyard west of Church Street.

An impressively large church in the Perpendicular Gothic style by William Hurst and W. B. Moffatt, 1843-8. Grade II listed. It was built and paid for by the Aire and Calder Navigation Company which began to develop the adjacent port in 1826.
