Dist:0.2km<br/>This public house has been closed for many years now. Planning permission to convert it was turned down recently. Then 'vandals' have attacked it and set fire to part of the property. With no roof the building will rot much quickly and then have to be demolished and then planning permission will be granted more easily.

Dist:0.3km<br/>This Georgian guesthouse stands on Staplestreet Road just north of the A299 Thanet Way. The recently felled poplars would have been planted as a windbreak for orchards or a hop garden and I imagine they also provided a sound baffle against traffic noise.
