Dist:0.1km north<br/>Opened in 1913, this old music hall, then theatre, has had an illustrious history as venue for many famous plays (pre and post their London tours), BBC concerts and shows, boxing, filming, opera, rock music and so on. When the BBC vacated it in 2003 its condition deteriorated and it was considered 'at risk'. Hopes that it might once again become an entertainment centre were dashed when it was acquired by the El-Shaddai evangelical Christians for 5 million pounds. Dist:0.2km north<br/>In the late 1970's and early 1980's the H2 service from Golders Green was provided by Ford Transit minibuses. Compare this with the current comparitively luxurious Optare midibuses in other photos on this site. The vehicles were kept at the, now closed, Finchley bus garage. Behind can be seen the waiting room. The H2's now turn round in the loop behind the waiting room.

Dist:0.2km north<br/>The first of London Transport's MCW Metrobuses waits at Golders Green station on a wet January day. The type were ordered in 1977 to replace the Daimler Fleetlines and other types that had entered service in the late 1960's as replacements for the RT class, but had proved unsuitable for London. M1 first entered service on the 16 / 16A routes in 1978. As more of the class entered service it moved to less busy routes and subsequently to training duties.
