Rapidly narrows to single track. The large house on the left was gutted by fire in 2000, since which time it has awaited its fate (probably demolition and redevelopment) whilst encased in scaffolding and slowly shredding plastic sheeting. Update Dec 2008: The building has now been demolished. See [[1071018]].

Dist:0.4km<br/>Part of an extensive programme of gas main replacement works in and around Kenilworth, Gibbet Hill Road was closed completely for several weeks during the University's summer holiday period. It caused considerable inconvenience for those people who live in and around this end of Gibbet Hill Road as the only vehicle access to their properties was via the Kirby Corner end of the road. Dalehouse Lane, Kenilworth, was also closed completely, and Coventry Road, Kenilworth, also had temporary traffic lights, all at the same time.

Dist:0.5km<br/>The bridge on Stoneleigh Road over the Coventry to Leamington railway line. This road was a quiet single track lane until the 1970s when it was widened to accommodate traffic between Warwick University and the A46. Expensive mid 20th century houses in a variety of styles stand set back from the road on either side as far as the Coventry boundary.

Dist:0.5km<br/>Kenilworth Road has been closed from this point to Cannon Hill Road junction whilst runners in the Coventry half marathon pass through (you may be able to spot them in the shade). Over 8 miles gone, and it's all downhill from here (well, mostly).
