Dist:0.4km north<br/>This is the western end of the street. The gates of the Priest Royd Iron Works have been restored as the entrance to a car park. They carry the date 1836. The Works was converted to a textile mill later in the 19C, and the imposing five-storey buildings must date from that period.

Dist:0.4km north<br/>Established 1853 as a woollen mill. Includes 6 storey fireproof mill with 15 bays and internal end engine house - 3 storeys for beam engine. There is an attached boiler house with drying floors over. The front block with gate and dyehouse to left has a datestone stating 1853 but is actually from 1871. There is a small weaving shed at the back against the river. A very nice complex but I don't know its current status. There were also good views from the river side but tree growth might have ruined those.

Dist:0.5km north<br/>There is an excellent photograph of this mill in Satanic Mills - Industrial Architecture in the Pennines, published by SAVE Britain's Heritage (not dated but c1980 at a guess)that shows a tall corner tower. This was truncated following a fire in 1977. There are also two chimneys visible and they have also gone. I would recommend Satanic Mills and Through the Mill as two books for those interested in Yorkshire (and Lancashire) textiles.

Dist:0.5km north<br/>Bath Mill is closest and Albert Mills is the distance. I grew up within 20 yards of my viewpoint here (possibly less). Humphrey Bolton tells me Albert Street is now busy with traffic as vehicles for the Holme Valley are now directed down here. Before it was always Lockwood Road that took the traffic.
