Dist:0.4km north<br/>This was taken a short way along a footpath towards Flockton. The daylight had only just faded, at 4:30 pm if my camera's time is correct. I could just make out some puddles in ruts in the corner of the field, one lit by the moon. Traffic on the main road was almost continuous, and I had to wait for a moment with no headlights.

This street is part of the council housing estate built by the council off Barnsley Road. The 'park' in the road name is not a public park, but the parkland of the manor house.

Dist:0.6km west<br/>This was a long-distance turnpike road. The milestone has 'Wakefield and Austerlands Road' at the top. Austerlands is on the outskirts of Oldham, on the old West Riding boundary.

Dist:0.6km east<br/>This is puzzling. There was a Methodist chapel a short distance to the west of Flockton Church. Alternatively the stone could be from an architectural antiques shop. Mount Tabor is to the north-west of Halifax, but is probably named after a chapel, as there is, for example, a Mount Tabor Chapel in Sheffield.

Dist:0.7km northeast<br/>Long ago an embankment was built to carry the lane high over the stream. Now it is beginning to collapse, just inside Wakefield council's territory. Incidentally I was on the correct side of the fence, poking the camera lens through the mesh!
