Dist:0.6km<br/>The brick building is the Museum. It was built as a charity school in 1779, and when superseded in the 1874 by the new village school became a reading room under the terms of the charity. This function decayed in the 1930s, with final closure resulting from the declaration of war. Various societies continued to use the building until Scouts took up residence in the 1970s. When they moved out in 1995, the Trustees sold the building to the Flintham Society, which created a small local history museum. Later still, a community shop was built on part of the site. This is the green timber building to the right of the picture; it is run by the community for the community.

Dist:0.6km<br/>Late 18th century brick farmhouse. One of several quite similar buildings in the village. It was clearly typical of the area to have the farmhouses concentrated in the village rather than scattered among their own territories. Listed grade II.

Dist:0.6km<br/>The thatch has been replaced long ago with asbestos cement sheeting but this has not prevented it from gaining Listed grade II status. In fact this is an early 18th century timber framed building. What appears to be the original street door has been bricked up and replaced with a new one up the lane to the right.

Dist:0.6km<br/>Early to mid 19th century farmhouse in a style very typical for the area. Listed grade II. Since this building was photographed in 2002 for the Images of England site http://www.imagesofengland.org.uk/Details/Default.aspx?id=448115&mode=adv it has gained a porch over the front door and two small windows in the near end wall and lost the two tall pots from the far chimney stack.
