Dist:1.0km north<br/>The centre of Alverthorpe near Wakefield, sometimes referred to as the Alverthorpe Triangle. Wrenthorpe and Alverthorpe Meadows are bordered on their eastern edge by the GNER London to Leeds railway and hemmed in by the housing estates of Wrenthorpe and Alverthorpe on the other two sides.

Dist:1.0km south<br/>Thornes Road, Wakefield. The church was built with an interior which is totally flexible with interior moveable walls. A Lower ground floor provides a hall, two meeting rooms and a kitchen for uniformed organisations and youth work.

Dist:1.0km east<br/>The station originally opened in 1867 but has been rebuilt in the 1960's.It is one of 2 stations in Wakefield, the other being Wakefield Kirkgate. It is managed by GNER, which runs frequent express services north to Leeds and Bradford and south to Doncaster,and London King's Cross. Virgin Trains run to NE toNewcastle and south to Sheffield and Birmingham.

Dist:1.0km west<br/>This is just on the boundary between Wakefield and Ossett. The foreground is Dewsbury Road, Wakefield, with Wakefield Road, Ossett on the right. Broadway is the other road heading left. The other buildings are Broadway Fish and Chips on the left, and Abdul's Asian Takeaway in the centre.

Dist:1.0km east<br/>This is a traffic island at the junction of Quebec Street and Ings Road in Wakefield. The north side shows this section of stone which reads "Wakefield School Board Ings Road School" and at the ends of the islaand are 2 stones which read "Boys" and "Girls". So presumably Ings Road School was here in the past.
