Dist:0.2km<br/>Although this area has been a retail park for many years, this row of buildings has recently been rebuilt to reflect modern building styles and structures. It's obvious from the main road which shop is which, as can be seen from this picture, but once you've parked you have to walk way out into the car park to look at the big signs to work out which shop you're entering, that's how bad the shop door identification is in this retail park.

Dist:0.6km<br/>Another view of the bridge across the Afon Llan, which carried the A483 (Swansea-Chester trunk road) and was the main route between West Wales and London. Abandoned in the 1970s after nearby dual carriageway opened.

Dist:0.6km<br/>I inadvertently disturbed a Heron which I managed to catch (though blurred) in picture. This bridge was the old A483 Swansea Chester road, which also carried traffic between West Wales and London. The bridge was abandoned in the 1970s.

Dist:0.7km<br/>Llwybr ar lan Afon Llan ger treflan Cadle. Mae'n posibl dilyn yr afon am filltir a hanner lan at sgwd ysblennydd Riverside path alongside the Llan River near the hamlet of Cadle (trans.battlefield). It is possible to follow the river for a mile and half to a splendid waterfall

Dist:1.0km<br/>Corporation Road in Swansea's Fforestfach industrial estate runs through undeveloped land. Access to the road has been blocked off with huge boulders and concrete blocks. On the maps the road has many junctions leaving it that go nowhere. It must have been created with the intention of extending the estate. New signs are in place, directing visitors as if the road were already open. This is the view southwest from one of dead end junctions, across the wastelends to where construction has started.

Dist:1.2km northeast<br/>I've never seen anything like this before - at the point the trackway ran out on my OS map - it became a field full of tracks that only 4x4 vehicles could drive - indeed there were even whole trackways dug into the fields that only a 4x4 could drive, going into the distance!

Dist:1.3km southwest<br/>Due to the low bridge ([[260106]]) around the corner off to the left at the end of the straight warning apparatus has been installed. Here you can see two poles on either side of the road in the foreground. If a vehicle breaks the beams shining between them a sign in the distance lights up.

Dist:1.5km southwest<br/>It looks like this road was dug under the railway as an afterthought. The low bridge, narrow road and tight dip combine to hinder this rat run. In heavy rain the dip can fill up. In freak conditions this is one of the first roads to become impassable.
