The area seems dominated by lovely sandstone cliffs, which, I'm told, were created by a geological fault. You can just see the medieval Farndon bridge in the background.

Dist:0.2km<br/>This large bench mark is on the gatepost in front of Glen Haven on Barton Road, Farndon, although the O.S. claim it belongs to Holly Cottage next door. The mark was recorded on the 1874 O.S. map levelled at 78.6 feet. See also [[[2553227]]]

Dist:0.2km<br/>Looking across the north face of St Chad's tower with flush bracket S1197 on the right of the drainpipe - [[2553123]]. This side of the tower has a number of pock-marks in the soft sandstone, and wikipedia states that they were caused by musket balls during the English Civil War.
