Dist:0.4km<br/>The doorway is a good example of Early English craftsmanship. Local orange ironstone alternates with grey limestone lending the doorway a lively polychromatic effect.

Dist:0.4km<br/>The church is thought to date from the late 12th century. It has a simple plan - nave and chancel only - with a low tower built inside the nave. The east window is 15th century and the south wall includes a very elegant 14th century ogee window. The church is currently redundant, though it remains consecrated and is looked after by the Redundant Churches Fund.

Dist:0.9km<br/>This woodland lines a stream following a shallow valley bottom; closer inspection of the regular tree-planting suggests they could be an outgrown willowbat variety taking advantage of the boggy stream surrounds.

Dist:1.0km<br/>The field is fallow at the moment, but even when it is cropped the farmer never ploughs the cross-field footpath - which is unusual in these parts.

Dist:1.0km<br/>This bridleway, marked by vehicle tracks, looks northwestwards and leads from Poddington to connect with the Byway that runs across the fields from north of Farndish to a road southwest of Wymington.

Dist:1.0km northeast<br/>This broken gateway takes the bridleway from Poddington through a hedge to meet with the nearby Farndish/Wymington Byway.

Dist:1.1km northeast<br/>Looking westwards this part of the Byway is about a quarter of a mile east of the Irchester Road to the north of Farndish.

Dist:1.1km northeast<br/>This modest bridge built of railway sleepers carries the byway that crosses the fields between the Irchester Road north of Farndish to the Wymington Road north of Poddington. The stream drains northwards behind camera and eventually joins the River Nene northwest of Rushden.

Dist:1.1km west<br/>The water tower is a prominent landmark in the area and is located on the northeastern edge of Wollaston beside the Irchester Road.

Dist:1.2km north<br/>The mast is beside the back road between Farndish and Irchester. It is a surprising intrusion into an otherwise wholly rural setting.

Dist:1.3km east<br/>This barn and walled enclosure is probably a relic of days when animal farming was more prevalent in the area, but now almost entirely given over to arable farming. The limestone element of the building is particularly interesting and suggests a good age. Clearly the roof has been modified as there are ironstone corbels at either end suggesting a former pitched roof and gable ends, as well as other remnant details of interest.
