Blackheath CRAG

 (0 miles away)

What is a crag?

A CRAG (or Carbon Rationing Action Group) is a group of people who have decided to act together to reduce their individual and collective carbon footprints. They do this in annual cycle. First they set themselves an annual emissions target or "carbon ration". Then they keep track of their emissions over the year by keeping a record of their household energy use and private car and plane travel.

Finally, at the end of the year, they take responsibility for any "carbon debt" (i.e. emissions over and above their ration) that they have built up. All carbon debts are paid into the group's "carbon fund" at an agreed rate per kilo of CO2 debt. The fund is then distributed as agreed by the members of the group.

I am now looking for founding members for a Blackheath CRAG. If you are interested in helping please contact me via my email below. The UK CRAG website for further information is:

"Latinas in London" (Chicas only)

 (0 miles away)

Hablamos pronto x

***************************************

I decided to open this group because I think that many of us would enjoy meeting other Latin and Spanish girls who live in Blackheath and Greenwich. I think that we could share our experiences living far away from our countries and enjoy our lives here more :)

For all those Latin and Spanish girls who miss living without rushing, enjoy Latin warmth, enjoying a coffee with friends, sharing cooking Latin flavours, speaking in Spanish about what is interesting to you, gossiping, listening to the music you grew up with, reading books by authors you’ve known about all your life, doing Zumba, dancing…

Just join this new group on Facebook! “Latinas in London (chicas only)” Invite all Latin and Spanish girls you’ve met! And let’s meet up this summer :)

Don’t forget you can propose any activities! All your ideas are welcome :)

See you soon x

Creative writing club for children age 7 to 12

 (0 miles away)

We are running an Exam Buster's course at The Quaker Meeting Rooms in Blackheath on 6th, 7th & 8th June for children age 10 to 12.

The course covers the creative writing and English language section of school entrance exams.

We show our students how to write to persuade, argue and advise; to use metaphor, simile, personification, alliteration and assonance in descriptive pieces; to write within a time constraint; and create one or two characters who become so familiar they will be able to call them to mind in any number of different storylines. Our aim is to instil confidence in their ability to write for exams.
