A very well preserved gravestone in All Saints churchyard, Eyton. The dates when these two young men died do not correlate to a specific war being after the Crimea and well before subsequent conflicts involving British troops. Curious! December 2011; I have been contacted by a relative of the young men who thinks the cause of death may have been TB which was very common in rural areas in the mid-19th century. She was amazed to find a picture of her ancestors' gravestone.
